To make your decision easier, we're going to compare the new Subaru Outback lineup to some of its competition, including the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, giving an easy look into what the Subaru Outback lineup does best.

Subaru Outback vs. Honda CR-V

Performance

The new Subaru Outback has an important advantage over the new Honda CR-V, and that's standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on every Outback. The Honda CR-V has available all-wheel drive on every vehicle, but it costs extra. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is legendary for its unique ability to send power to all four-wheels and divert it automatically to the wheels with the most traction if any should slip, allowing you to take on bad weather, tough terrain, and your daily trips to Midwest City with the same level of ease.

The Subaru Outback offers a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 186-horsepower and 176 pounds-feet of torque. The Subaru Outback Onyx XT, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Touring XT models all come with a sportier 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 260-horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque.

The Honda CR-V also features an optional hybrid powertrain on all the Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring models, combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 204-horsepower and 247 pounds-feet of torque.

Towing

If you need a vehicle that can tow your trailer, boat, camper, and more, the Subaru Outback is the best choice. The New Honda CR-V is rated for 1,500 pounds. The Subaru Outback provides you with 2,700 pounds of standard towing, making it easy to handle all your towing needs around Midwest City.

Features

The Subaru Outback Base model uses a dual-screen 7-inch touchscreen display, allowing you to enjoy and complete control of calling, messaging, apps, messaging, and more while you connect and control your smartphone device. The new Subaru Starlink infotainment system features standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, allowing you to sync your smartphone device using Bluetooth or a USB. Once you're connected to your phone, you can enjoy full control of everything on your phone.

Interior

Inside, the new Subaru Outback offers a spacious and comfortable cabin for you and your family or friends to enjoy on every outing. The Outback has 109 cubic feet of passenger space compared to 105 in the Honda CR-V models. You can also fit more cargo with the rear seats down, especially longer cargo, as the Outback offers up to 75.6 cubic feet of maximum cargo space in the new Outback.

Exterior

The Subaru Outback continues to standout in a crowd with its half-wagon half-SUV build that helps it fit passengers, cargo, and take on tougher terrain with a longer wheelbase. The new Outback offers 8.7-inches of ground clearance in most models, with the Outback Wilderness model enhancing it to 9.5-inches, helping you travel on tougher around Del City with ease.

Subaru Outback vs. Toyota RAV4

Performance

The Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Outback both deliver a strong standard engine. The Outback offers two engines though, with both offering impressive strength, durability, and fuel economy to help you save on trips to Midwest City and beyond. For the strongest performance from the Outback, choose a Wilderness or XT model. Those models use a sportier 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 260-horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque.

Towing

The new Subaru Outback offers towing capacity for up to 2,700 pounds standard, with up to 3,500 pounds of maximum towing when properly equipped. The Toyota RAV offers standard towing of 1,500 pounds, with the ability to tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Technology Features

Both the Subaru Outback and Toyota RAV4 come with a cutting-edge infotainment system that makes staying connected and in control as you travel easy and convenient. The Outback offers dual 7-inch touchscreens on the Base model, while all the other Outback models have a larger 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen display. The RAV4 has an available 10.5-inch touchscreen display, but only on the higher trim levels.
