Preview the Redesigned 2025 Forester

The Subaru Forester will be completely redesigned for the upcoming model year with a new style, updated technology, and convenient new features. The new Forester will offer Del City residents a mix of rugged SUV practicality with modern elements like a bold new grille, striking headlight styling, geometric trim accents, and muscular design contours. The next-gen Forester will surely delight many customers, so continue reading as we review what's coming.

Performance

The next-gen Forester will still utilize the same engine - a 2.5-liter flat-four with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive. However, output will be marginally different as the new Forester will output 180 horsepower and 178 pounds of torque, compared with the last generation's 182 horses and 176 pounds of torque. While the Forester will be slightly less powerful, it will reach peak torque sooner, which should make it livelier than before. Also, a hybrid powertrain is added next year, but no information is available on that engine at the moment.

Fuel Economy

No official word about the next-gen Forester's fuel economy has been given. Though with such a slight change, we don't expect it to differ from current models. If this holds, drivers can expect an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

Design

For the first time, the Forester will offer 19-inch alloy wheels in dark gray with machine-finish accents on the Forester Touring and a bronze finish on the Forester Sport. These new wheels will be excellent for traveling in inclement weather or over rough terrain, especially since Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8.7 inches of ground clearance are standard.

When traversing over highways or trails, many will enjoy how comfortable the two-row Forester is thanks to mid-tier trims offering amenities like a leather-wrapped gear selector and heated-and-ventilated front seats. Norman and Oklahoma City drivers will also appreciate the new panoramic moonroof, which adds even more light and atmosphere throughout the cabin.

Many will also like the new hands-free powered tailgate and expanded cargo area, which offers up to 74.4 cubic feet of space. Subaru also claims the new-generation Forester has more sound dampening than before, which should result in a quieter cabin.

Technology

The updated interior will feature new technology with its STARLINK Multimedia system. The base model gets a dual seven-inch display similar to what was on the old Forester, which incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although, higher trims offer a new 11.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, plus wireless device charging. As mentioned, a new hands-free liftgate is now standard, and it will provide Midwest City locals with an extra-wide opening to accommodate oversized items.

Safety

All models come standard with Subaru's EyeSight suite of camera-based driver-assistance features. Features that come standard include adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. For more advanced features like blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, evasive steering assistance, or a driver monitoring system, you'll need to purchase a higher trim like the mid-tier Sport or top-tier Touring.
